Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August 1995 in London, the United Kingdom. The singer-songwriter signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model and launched her self-titled debut album in the year 2017. It climbed to the third position on the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released, among them Be the only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). It also rose at the number 6 spot on the charts in the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. Dua Lipa was born on 22 august 1995, in London. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha and Dukagjin lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. It is also possible to trace her ancestral roots to Peja in Kosovo. Her grandfathers were historians as well. Gjin along with Rina are her siblings. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is the principal musician and vocalist for The Kosovan the group Oda. At home her father continued to play music including his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was 5 years old. In just her ninth year she was singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed Beautiful, by Christina Aguilera as well as If Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. In August 2015, her debut single New Love came out.
